About the Artist
Watercolors are mystical magic for me. I delight in the clarity of the individual colors and the transformation that happens when they meet each other on the paper or the palette. I love getting up in the morning to see how the relationships are working out. I do believe that the spirits of the universe often lend a hand and I’m just an apprentice to the paint, the paper, and the process.
~ Susan Allen, TaWS
The artist has lived in north Florida most of her adult life and is truly at home in the rolling hills, the colors of spring, the humidity of summer, the Spanish moss covered oaks, and the tall evergreen pines. She is a frequent visitor of the nearby “Forgotten Coast”, enjoying the beach, the gulf, and the sea life. She started water coloring as a spiritual practice while going through a difficult period and found the process of adding color and water to paper transformational. Largely self-taught, she has appreciated her teacher-friends who have been extraordinary in their support and encouragement!
